Many early 24kWh Nissan Leafs are now reaching the point where their batteries have a very low State of Health (SoH), resulting in significantly reduced driving range. In some cases, the battery may also display a battery warning light indicating a fault. These vehicles can often be given a new lease on life by fitting a later-model 24kWh battery with a much higher SoH, restoring practical day-to-day usability and providing many more years of reliable service.

Another common issue we now see is the failure of Nissan’s original 30kWh battery packs. While these batteries offered increased range when new, many have proven to be less reliable as they age. For this reason, our preferred replacement for a failing 30kWh battery is often a later-model 24kWh battery. These batteries have demonstrated excellent long-term reliability and can typically restore a practical driving range of around 100km, making them an economical and dependable solution for many owners.

For customers wanting substantially more driving range, we also offer 40kWh battery upgrades where suitable batteries are available. Depending on the vehicle, battery condition and driving conditions, these upgrades can provide a real-world driving range of around 200km.

Because all replacement batteries are sourced from carefully selected recycled Nissan Leafs, availability varies and suitable batteries are not always immediately available. Every battery is assessed before installation, and we’ll recommend the solution that best suits your vehicle, budget and driving requirements.
