New and second hand Nissan Leafs come with a Nissan charger which draws 12 – 15 amps. All New Zealand homes have 10 amp sockets. It is illegal in NZ to modify these chargers and your wall socket.
Blue Cars recommends you install a 16 amp Hard Wired unit and provides this service.
Alternatively you can purchase a mobile charger which will be useable with the standard 10 amp plug. This is also available from Blue Cars.
